Charles P. Burns, 18, of Hubbardston died Thursday in Sparrow Hospital, 
Lansing, after a long illness.  He was born July 19, 1967 in Grand Rapids, the 
son of Patrick and Florence Kohn Burns of Hubbardston; they survive.  He was a 
1985 graduate of Carson City-Crystal High School and a former employee of 
McDonald’s in Ionia.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Brenda McIntosh of Ionia 
and Theresa Scholtens of Ionia; a brother, Stephen Burns of Grand Rapids; two 
nieces; his grandparents, Joseph and Evan Burns of Hubbardston.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from St. John The Baptist Church, 
Hubbardston, with the Rev. William Reitz officiating.  Burial will be in the 
church cemetery.  Memorials have been established for St. Jude’s Children’s 
Hospital and the Ionia County Unit, American Cancer society, in care of 
Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City, which made arrangements.
