Burr Hannah C., youngest child of William and Ann Jeanette Pennington, was born near Hudson, New York, on October 16, 1850, and departed this life at her home in South Boston on June 13, 1922. When about sixteen years of age her parents came to Michigan and settled on a farm in South Boston, in young womanhood she became the wife of William F. Hobbs, who died in 1906. To this union two children were born, Nellie now deceased, born in 1874, became the wife of Bert Morgan of Pennsylvania and Harold K., born in 1881, now residing at New Castle, Delaware. On June 24, 1909, Mrs. Hobbs was united in marriage with A. P. Burr of South Boston. The news of Mrs. Burr’s sudden death came as a great shock to her immediate family and host of friends. Mrs. Burr was a loyal, active worker in the South Boston Congregational church, and had been president of the Ladies Aid society for nearly twelve years. She gave gladly of her time, strength and energy to whatever task there was before her and she will be greatly missed by the entire community.
