Nov. 1, 2016 RUTH M. "PEG" BURT 1930-2016 Ruth M. "Peg" Burt, age 86 of Greenville, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at Metron of Greenville. She was born in Ionia April 26, 1930, the daughter of Charles L. and Virginia (Mickel) Perrien. Peg was married on feb. 17, 1951 to Thomas Peter Burt, and they became parents to one son and four daughters. Tom preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 2007 and their infant son, Russell James Burt, also preceded her along with her parents and her brother, Charles Perrien, Jr. Peg was employed as an executive secretary most of her working career, first with the Gibson Refrigerator Co. and for many years with Process Equipment Co., in Belding. She graduated from Ionia High School She enjoyed many activities, including playing golf, bowling, and playing cards, especially with family, She love to win. She enjoyed crafts and was skillful with knitting and sewing and stain glass projects. She was a member of the First Congregation Church of Belding for many years and active in the Bell Choir, the choir and many other of the church functions. She is survived by her daughters and families, Diane (David) Christensen of Sheridan, Tamara (Mark) Poff of Summerfield, Florida, Janet (Dan) Lyndrup of Greenville, and Jill (Duffy Magin) Greenop of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren, Leigha (Elijah) Harris, Tracy (Michael) Clark, Ashley Milhizer, Casey Lyndrup, Alix (John) Booms and Collin (Lindsey) Greenop; nine great-grandchildren; and her cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Belding with Rev. Paul Hulford officiating. A visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hurst Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be give to the Greenville Senior Center or the First Congregation Church Belding.
