Borden post G.A.R. which one numbered three hundred comrades, died Wednesday at the winter home of his daughter, Mrs. Jay Mowerman of Miami, Florida. Born in Chenango county, New York, he came to Michigan in 1854. He enlisted in Company E, Fourth Michigan Infantry. Notwithstanding his advanced age, Mr. Burtch never failed to walk downtown daily and his death was unexpected. Surviving him are two children, Mrs. Mowerman and Harry Burtch of Ionia. The remains will arrive here from Florida and will be taken to Bradley funeral home where services will be held Monday at two thirty with interment in Balcom cemetery.
