Ionia County News - Thursday, Jan. 21, 1935

Harry J. Burtch, 56, widely known Ionia paint and wallpaper merchant was 
buried yesterday from SS. Peter and Paul church. He died Sunday after a 
brief illness of bronchial pneumonia.

Mr. Burtch was born in Berlin township, attended school there and later 
graduated from Ionia High. He married Sarah McDonald in 1901. In addition to 
his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leo Howard, Mrs. Leonard 
Miller and Miss Genevieve Burtch, all of Ionia, and two sisters, Mrs. M. O. 
Dickerson, Flint, and Mrs. H. C. Mauerman, Bridgemond. Burial was in Mt. 
Olivet cemetery.
