                              D.RUSSELL BURTRAW

MUIR-D.Russell Burtraw, 67, died April 25, at his home in LaJolla,Calif.

He was born in Muir, the son of Melvin and Gertrude Helmer Burtraw.

He graduated from Muir High School, Alma College and the university of Michigan.

Before, leaving Michigan, he served as the Superintendent of the Elsie Public 
Schools. He retired as Dean of Students at San Diego City College.

He had served three years as president of the friends of Handicapped Children 
and president of the California College Administrators Association.

He was a Mason and a member of the First Christian Church of Muir and of 
Evergreen Chapter of OES of Lyons.

He is survived by his wife,Helen; three sons,Melvin of Germany, Dee of 
Connecticut and Dennis of California; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services were held April 29 at the Plymouth Congregation Church in San 
Diego.
