Stephen Bush, age 78, of Ionia passed away Oct. 29, 2013, in Ionia.  He was 
born July 10, 1935, in Douglas, Mich., the son of Truman and Ella (Green) 
Bush.  Stephen married Martha Travis Oct. 2, 1971, in Ionia.

He worked for Ionia City Police for 26 years and later worked at American 
Bumper as well as Ventra as head of security.  Stephen wrote and published two 
books.  He attended Zion Church.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Martha Bush of Ionia; sons, 
Steve Darren (Tammie) Bush of Texas and Claude (Rhonda) Bush of Texas; and 
several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dwayne Bush, three sisters and six 
brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Zion Methodist Church 
of Ionia with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating.  Interment Sunset Memorial 
Gardens.  Visitation will be Friday at 11 a.m. until time of service at the 
church.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.  Memorial contributions 
may be made in Stephen's name to Mackenzie House For Animals.
