The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, June, 2009

Kevin L. Buskirk "Teddy Bear", of Lyons, age 38, loving husband, father, son, 
brother, stepbrother and uncle, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009. 

He was born on June 14, 1970 in Lansing the son of Roger and Carolyn 
(Fitzgerald) Buskirk. Kevin was a service repair technician for G and W Maytag 
and also worked at I-96 Speedway and the Ionia Sand Drags. He was a NASCAR fan 
who loved going on trips with his family and being on the water especially in 
South Haven.

Surviving are his wife of 8 years, Brandi Buskirk of Lyons; children, Shana 
and Austin; stepdaughter, Allison Hanley; mother and stepfather, Carolyn 
(Loren) Riker of Portland; father and stepmother, Roger (Gloria) Buskirk of 
Grayling; stepmother, Barbara Fox of South Lyon; grandmother, Margaret 
Fitzgerald of Palo; siblings, Tina (Craig) Pung of Portland and Scott (Brandy) 
Buskirk of Lansing; stepsister, Val (Dennis) Keefer; stepbrother, Mike 
(Barbara Shaw) Riker; nephew and nieces, Dakota Wilson and Lexie and Chloe 
Buskirk; father-in-law, David Hunt of Perrinton; Brandi's grandma, Betty 
McMullen of Lansing and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded 
in death by his mother-in-law, Tamela Hunt.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the 
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland with Rev. Steve Burkhart, officiating. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. 
Monday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to a fund that 
will be set up for his children at the Portland Federal Credit Union.
