This Summer he had been working at Jackson and with other young people from Spring Arbor, had gone to Swain Lake near there to go swimming. As he was swimming from a raft toward one of their number standing on a sand bar, he suddenly gave a loud call for help and sank into 30 feet of water, indicating that he may have been seized with cramps. Marie, a sister (Betty) Mrs.Kenneth Weiler of San Diego, Cal. and a half- sister, Alice and a brother, Terry at home, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs.Alfred Wilson of Barryton.
