Butler, Ionia businessman, died Saturday morning at her home at 512 High street after a lengthy illness. She was born July 22, 1890 in North Shade township, Gratiot county, the daughter of Albert and Mary Clark. She was married to Clare M. Butler September 18, 1912 and made their home in Middleton until 1926 when they moved to Ionia. Mrs. Butler was a member of the Methodist church, Mrs. Hawley’s Sunday school class, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem. Surviving besides her husband, Clare M., are one daughter, Mrs. Clem Woodard of Hillsdale; one son, Lyle of Ionia; five grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Edna Hull of Middleton, Mrs. Rose Tatu of St. Louis, Mrs. Dora Foote, Mrs. Edith Fast and Mrs. Flora Ramey of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. James Tolley of Hawthorne, Calif. The body is at the family residence on High street until Wednesday noon when it will be taken to the Methodist church where services will be held at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Heath Goodwin officiating. Interment will be at Payne cemetery at Middleton.
