Butler, residing with her daughter, Mrs. F.E. Lane, of Saranac, died Thursday morning at 6 o’clock following a slight stroke and hip fracture which she sustained 11 weeks ago. The funeral services will be conducted from the home of Mrs. Lane Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Rev. D.O. Beach of Clarksville, and Rev. E.H. Humphrey, of Saranac. Mrs. Butler was born in Kalamazoo county in 1843. Previous to the death of her husband, Benjamin Butler, fifteen years ago, she lived on the farm in Berlin township, a small portion of which now forms the Berlin Center church yard. She was a member of this church and active in the interests of the organization. After the death of her husband she went to Saranac to live with her daughter. She also leaves a son, William Butler, three grandsons and five great- grandchildren.
