At the age of 7 years she came with her parents to Michigan and settled in Odessa township. May 25, 1856 she was married to Pellington Buxton, and to them were born eleven children, four of whom died in infancy. There are left to mourn their loss, seven children, Mrs. Frank Bishop of Lakeview, Bert Buxton, Alberta, Mrs. Nellie Friedly, Hanford Buxton, of Freeport; Mrs. John Bliss, Odessa; and Mrs. Geo. Howlett, Boston, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister and a large circle of neighbors and friends. In the spring of 1870 Mr. and Mrs. Buxton settled on the farm in Berlin which was then an almost unbroken forest, and made for themselves a home. Mr. Buxton died about four years ago, but the faithful heart still clung to the… (illegible)…on the farm which had been her home for nearly forty years. She was converted about 37 years ago and united with the Free Methodist church, but for a number of years she has been a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church and has tried as best she could to follow the Master. Sister Buxton was a good neighbor, a faithful wife and mother and spent her life in the service of those who were near and dear to her.
