Lillian Grace Buxton, aged 91, of Lake Odessa, passed away Tuesday morning, 
March 17, 2009 and had a joyful reunion in Heaven with her husband, Herbie, 
and daughter, Mary Jean. 

Lily was born in Lake Odessa on April 11, 1917 to Ralph and Edna (Carpenter) 
Bowerman. She was united in marriage to Herbert G. Buxton in Ionia, MI on 
March 18, 1935, and had worked at Mitchell-Bentley in Ionia for many 
years. "Lily Bell" and Herbie spent a life-time together fishing. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; Herbie, her loving husband of 70 
years; her daughter, Mary Jean; and sister and brothers, Lucille Piper, Leslie 
Bowerman, Ralph Bowerman, Jr., and Richard Bowerman.  Lily is survived by her 
sister, Marie Haskins; and many nieces and nephews and their families. 

Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Thursday 
from 6-8 PM, and Friday from 2-4 PM. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 
PM on Saturday, March 21 at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in 
Lakeside Cemetery.  The family has suggested that memorial contributions may 
be made to the Ionia County Animal Shelter, or the Barry Community Hospice.
