W. Burns, An Old Resident. Portland, June 25. -George W. Byron, quite a noble resident, died here this morning. He came to Michigan in 1868 and has been a useful citizen in his way. He made and used the first snow plough ever run on our sidewalks. The village was comparatively small and he asked and received one dollar for each days work. He was familiarly called doctor, though his patients were only horses, one of which by a bite occasioned the loss of the doctor's arm. He left no relatives in the state with the exemption of his widow.
