T. BYWATER ANSWERS CALL DEATH OCCURRED LAST SATURDAY AFTERNOON; FUNERAL MONDAY -------- WAS LOCAL PIONEER ------- SURVIVED HIS WIFE, WHO PASSED AWAY IN FEBRUARY, LESS THAN TWO MONTHS ------- Abel T. Bywater, well-known local pioneer, passed away at his home here Saturday. He had been ill for some little time, but his death was undoubtedly hastened by that of his wife who preceded him on February 11. The funeral was held from the United Brethren church Monday afternoon, Rev. G. W. Bonebrake, pastor, preaching. The remains were interred in Lakeside cemetery. Mr. Bywater was one of our real pioneers, having lived in this section for many years. He led a consistent, christian life, and was thoroughly liked and respected by the entire community. He leaves four children: Mrs. Wm. Shepard of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Julia Smith of Whitmore Lake, Geo. Bywater of Hastings and Freeman Bywater of Grand Rapids; three brothers: William Bywater of Portland. T. L. Bywater of Sherman City and John Bywater of Rudyard; two sisters: Lucy Tissue of Fruitport and Penton of Clear Lake, Iowa. The obituary will appear next week.
