Cabinaw, 66, of Portland, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2002 in Ionia. She was born on July 20, 1936, in Oneida Township, the daughter of Dale and Audrey (Davis) Vogt. Helene was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit, reading, and sitting on her deck watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Vogt and husband, Patrick Cabinaw. Surviving are her children, Audrey (Douglas) Krausz of Lyons, Julie (Michael) Smith of Clarksville, Patrick (Shelly McDonnell) Cabinaw of Lebanon, Penn., and David Cabinaw of Lyons; grandchildren, Samantha Krausz, Jodi and Jessica Smith, Aaron, Alex, Amanda, and Savannah Cabinaw, great- grandchildren, Cameron Harrison and Isac Smith; brothers Darwin (Linda) Vogt of Charlotte Courthouse, Va, and Everett (Jackie) Vogt of Ionia; many nieces and nephews. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated by Rev. Charles D. Hall, Pastor, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2003, at Schrauben- Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Rite of Committal will be in Danby Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2003.
