Portland Observer, 17 Jun 1885

The baby, Coglow or Ballacker, killed at Ionia, last Friday, was three years of
age.  Her father saw her and ran to her rescue, catching her just as the train
reached her, but his arm was struck by the locomotive so as to loosen his hold,
when the train passed over her before his eyes.
