A retired produce buyer, he was born Nov. 12, 1904, in Saranac, the son of Louis and Caroline Walker Cahoon. He lived in the Saranac area all his life. He was a member of Saranac Community Church, a 50-year member of Saranac Masonic Lodge, a former Saranac school board member and a past Saranac Oddfellow. He married the former Olive Richardson Oct. 24, 1929. Mrs. Cahoon survives him. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Shirley Ann) Jackson of Saranac, two grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Johnson of Ohio, Mrs. Lucy Simons of Dundee, and Mrs. Maxine Compagner of Saranac. Four brothers preceded him in death. Two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Alma Cahoon and Mrs. Iva Cahoon survive. Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Saranac Community Church, the Rev. Edwin Mendenhall officiating. Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery. The family will be at Lake Funeral Home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for Saranac Community Church.
