The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, June 12, 1967

Mrs. Gladys D. Cahoon, 62, of route 3, died Monday at the Ionia County 
Memorial hospital after a lingering illness.  She was born December 16, 1904 
the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Leary, and a graduate of Saranac high school.  Attending one 
year at Western Michigan university she taught school in the rural area of 
Saranac.

April 1, 1927 she was married to Arthur Cahoon in Saranac and lived there 
until 1950 at which time they purchased a motel and store on M21 at Bellamy 
road.

She is survived by her husband Arthur; one daughter Mrs. Patricia Spicer; two 
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Roy C. VandenBerg of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Ernest 
Davis of Detroit.  

Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home 
in Saranac with pastor Joe Everett of South Boston Bible church officiating 
and interment will be in Saranac cemetery.
