Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 4 Feb 1920

Catherine Barbara Cain, born June 7, 1863 , at Wurtenburg, Germany died at her
home 365 Rice street, Ionia, Michigan, January 23, 1920, age 56 years, 7 months,
16 days.

Catherine Barbara Stiess came to America January 2, 1879.  Was united in
marriage to John O’Beirne January 15, 1880.  To this union were born six
children, all of whom survive.  Albert H. of South Dakota, Charles J. of
California, Mrs. A.N. Seter of Chicago, Mrs. Oluf Olsen of Ionia, Miss Mabel and
Miss Adah.

She resided in Berlin at their farm home from the time of her marriage to John
O’Beirne until his death June 5, 1900.  She was united in marriage to L.J. Cain,
continuing to live at the farm home as before, until moving to Ionia, October,
1919.  She was a loving mother, a faithful church worker, her kind and loving
nature winning her a large circle of friends, who mourn her loss.  She has been
a great sufferer, bearing it all patiently with her strong faith in her Savior.
