The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, November 5, 1917
The funeral service for Fred R. Caine, on Sunday afternoon, was a large one, 
besides many relatives from out of the city and the many Ionia friends 
attending, the Elks turned out in considerable numbers.  The service at the 
late home was conducted by Rev. E. E. Branch, assisted by Rev. R. J. Slee, and 
the service at the grave was by the Elks.  There was a wondrously beautiful 
profusion of flowers on the casket and at the grave side.  Interment was in 
the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery.
