CALCOTT LAKE ODESSA - Harold J. Calcott, 80, of 830 Jordan Lake St., Lake Odessa, died Jan. 7 in Ingham County Medical Facility. He was born April 11, 1901, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Howard and May Dugan Calcott and was raised by a stepmother, Cora Belle Wilson Calcott. He attended schools in Pennsylvania and moved to Lake Odessa with his parents when he was 12. He was married to Mary Ernestine Hess Dec. 22, 1923, in Ionia. Employed for 35 years by Consumers Power in Lansing as an industrial gas engineer, he retired in 1966. He also worked for Kevinator Crop. in 1943-44 and owned a restaurant supply business in Lansing 1945-51. He was a past master of Masonic Lodge Lansing and a member of the Central United Methodist Church of Lake Odessa. He is survived by his wife; one son, John of Lake Odessa; and three daughters. Mrs Jack (Doris) Lambert of Lake Odessa; Marily West of Mt. Hermon Mass.; and Lois Calcott of Lansing. Seventeen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. An infant son, Howard preceded him in death in 1927. Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p..m. from the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, the Rev. James Hulett officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery. A memorial for the American Cancer Society has been established.
