The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, April 8, 1968
George Sidney Calkins, 85, of 422 Johnson, died early Monday morning at a 
convalescent home in Hubbardston.  He was born August 9, 1882 in Easton 
township, the son of George and Carrie Sanders Calkins.  November 25, 1908 he 
was married to Mida May Hoadley.  A retired farmer, he has lived at the 
convalescent home since July 1967.

He was a member of Ionia Masonic lodge 36 F v AM, Ionia chapter 14 R & AM, 
Ionia Commandery Knights Templars and a 32nd degree Mason of DeWitt Clinton 
consistory in Grand Rapids.

Surviving are his wife, Mida of Ionia.

Funereal services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral home 
with burial in Easton cemetery.
