She was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Ithaca, the daughter of George and Nora (Curtis) Moorman Sr. She went on to marry Clifford C. Calkins Oct. 19, 1940, in Ionia. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was an active member of First Assembly of God in Ionia and volunteered at Commission on Aging. She is survived by her son, Robert A. (Susan) Calkins of Ionia; daughters, Shirley Jean (Louis) Green of Traverse City, Rosalie Ann (James) Patton of Ionia and Bette Jane (Kevin) Rynearson of Ionia; brothers, William (Bea) Graham of Diamondale and Gaylord Dow of Evart; sisters, Grace Burke of Ionia and Ellen Sanger of Evart; sister-in-laws, Margaret Calkins of Ionia and Ginnie Moorman of Tubs Lake; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, George (Buck) Moorman, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Conrad Campbell and Rev. Lewis Adamson officiating. Interment Balcom Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday. Anyone wishing may make a memorial contributions to Fibra Myalgia Foundation and First Assembly of God.
