Ionia Daily Standard, Sat., Oc.t 31, 1903
The remains of John Calkins were brought to Ionia today from Grand Rapids, 
where he died on Thursday of pulmonary trouble and were taken to Palo for 
interment. Mr. Calkins was some years ago employed as one of the bakers for the 
Star bakery. The wife and her daughter accompanied the remains.
