                       MRS. FLORENCE M. CALKINS

SHERIDAN-Mrs.Florence M.Calkins, 79, of 125 Fargo St.,Sheridan, died Tuesday at 
United Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

She was born Jan. 29, 1901 in Greenville the daughter of Lester and Bertha 
Doane.

She was a lifelong resident of the Fenwick -Sheridan area. She was a retired 
seamstress.

She was preceded in death by husband, Rex Calkins in 1969.

She is survived by six daughters,Mrs.Alvin (Maude) Waldorf of Fenwick, Mrs.Lyle 
(Norma) Minikey of Sheridan, Mrs.Dale (Kathleen) Pearson of Fenwick, Mrs.Kenneth 
(Carrie) Smalley of Sheridan, Mrs.Nelson (Lucille) Hoisington of Orleans and 
Mrs.William (Marie) Olsen of St.Louis, MO., 23 grandchildren, 28 great-
grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Miss Maude Doane of 
Pewamo; and one brother, Ralph Doane of Pewamo.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Stebbins and Simpson Funeral 
Home in Sheridan with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.

Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery in Fairplains Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Auxiliary Building 
Fund. Envelopes are available at the Funeral Home.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
