Belding Banner-News, 5 Jan 1961

Ken Calkins, 48, of Ithaca, passed away January 1 in Carson City hospital after
an illness of many years.  He was born December 21, 1912, in LaPorte, Ind., the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Calkins and lived here a number of years, graduating from
Belding High School.

He is survived by his wife, Ada, one son, Eddie at home and one daughter Mrs.
Bob (Barbara) Cowdry; two brothers, Don of Knox, Ind. and Sidney of Detroit and
one sister, Mrs. Tom (Dorothy) Gilbert of Toledo, Ohio.  His mother was the late
Mrs. John Krupp of this city.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the Beebe funeral home in
Ithaca and burial was in River Ridge cemetery here, beside his parents.
