Callow died at his home 520 East Main Street, at 3:45 Tuesday afternoon, June 1, He was 59 years old. Born in Ionia, November 23, 1888, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Callow, and had spent his entire life in the city. He attended Ionia public school and, as a boy, entered the employ of the National Bank of Ionia, remaining with that institution through the years until he became cashier, and continued with the bank which was reorganized as the Ionia County National Bank of Ionia. He left this position in September 1938, after 30 years and, for a time, until ill health forced his retirement, was with the Ionia Building and Loan Association as liquidator. On June 24, 1913 Mr. Callow was married to Miss Reva Taft of Ionia township, Mrs. Callow with their two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Corey of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Helen Graham of Ionia, survives him. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ann Boylan of Boyne City, and Miss Harriet Callow of Akron, Ohio, and three grandchildren. Rev. Paul L. Stewart will officiate at the funeral service which will be from the home on East Main St. at 2:30 Friday afternoon. Pall bearers will be H. H. Darling, W. G. Hawley, August Krueger, Bert Hackett, R. N. Stevenson, Ionia and John Mickula of Holland. Burial will be in Balcom cemetery.
