March 31, 1958 & Thurs. April 3, 1958 Mrs. Daniel J. (Mary) Campau, 78, of 658 Union street died Sunday evening at Ionia County Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. Mrs. Campau was born January 13, 1880 in Manistee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Guhse. In June of 1903 she was married to Daniel J. Campau. They have lived at their home on Union street for 54 years. An active member of the First Presbyterian church, Mrs. Campau was a deaconess in the church and a member of the Women's association and the Esther Circle. She was a member and past president of the Ionia Garden club and was active in community affairs. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. C.B. (Ruth) Keister of Middleville, Mrs. Kenneth (Marian) McGregor of Birmingham and Mrs. Glen (Jane) Bradley of London, England; two sons, Gordon of Ada and Harry of Holland; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Miss Alma Guhse of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church with the Rev. Heath Goodwin officiating. Her body will be taken from Myers funeral home to the church where it will be from 1 o'clock until time of the service. Interment is to be in Oakhill cemetery. Contributions to the memorial fund of the church may be made in her honor. MRS. D.J. CAMPAU Funeral service for Mrs. D.J. (Mary) Campau, 78, who died Sunday evening in Ionia County Memorial hospital, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mrs. Campau's body was at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Ushers were Fred Post and Roger Olive. Miss Mary Esther Helmes was organist, and the Rev. Heath Goodwin officiated. In charge of flowers were Mrs. L.W. Stewart and Mrs. A.J. Brictson. Honorary bearers were Montgomery Webster, Dr. P.C. Robertson, Arthur Brown, Fred Sibley, Fred Townsend, Fred Keister Jr. and A.J. Brictson. Pallbearers were Donald Moore, L.W. Stewart, Jay Higbee, Geer H. Smith, Alexander Sibley and Henry Warnshuis. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery. Attending from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. John Kenower of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Marc Squier and Mrs. William Campbell of Middleville, Miss Evelyn Burke of Kalamazoo, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Runciman Jr. of Ada, and Mrs. Reginald Cridler, Mr. and Mrs. Ben H. Lee, C.W. Green, D.E. Rose and Mr. and Mrs. George L. Stone of Grand Rapids.
