The Portland Observer, Thursday, November 26, 1925

Mrs. John Campbell, aged 46 years, passed away at the University hospital, at 
Ann Arbor, Monday morning, following a complication of diseases chief among 
which were dropsy and heart trouble.  She had been taken to the hospital for 
treatment ten days previous to her death.  The body was brought to her home at 
Sunfield and funeral services held Wednesday.  Burial was made in the Portland 
cemetery.

Mrs. Campbell was formerly Miss Katherine Sowles, daughter of the late Byron 
Sowles.  She was born in Portland and 27 years ago married Mr. Campbell. Two 
years later they moved on a farm in Sebewa where they lived until seven years 
ago when Mr. Campbell started a garage in Sunfield and the family moved to 
that place.  She was a member of the O.E.S. and Rebekah lodges.  Besides the 
husband she is survived by one son, Charles, of Sunfield.
