January 24, 1963 CLAYTON D.CAMPBELL Clayton D. Campbell, 70, 501 Pearl St., Belding, died at the Belding Community Hospital Wednesday, after a one year illness. He was born in union township, Grand Traverse County, March 11, 1892 and had lived in Belding for the past 34 years. Previous to that he had lived in Alba and was a Meat cutter by trade. He was part owner in the Belding Locker plant and at one time owned the Ann St.Market and later was a meat cutter for Leppicks. On Dec. 27, 1922, he was married to Edith Glass. Mr.Campbell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belding; a World War I Veteran and a member of Hugh Fales Post 203 of Belding; a life member of Flat River DAV 106; a life member of Belding Masonic Lodge 355 F&AM; a member of the Good Fellowship Club, Washington Club and of the Royal Arch Masons of Greenville and President of the Locker Association. Surviving besides his wife, Edith are two sons, Clayton jr., of St.Charles,Ill and Donald of Cinn., Ohio; three brothers, Paul,Carl and Jex, all of Fife Lake; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Huffman Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Dean and Belding Lodge 355 F&AM officiating. Burial will be in River Ridge Cemetery.
