Wave, Thursday, July 19, 1951 ATTENDS FUNERAL OF SISTER IN IOWA Mrs. Leonor Vargas and daughter, Mrs. Orvin Bartlett returned home Wednesday evening from Des Moines, Iowa, where they attended the funeral services of their sister and aunt, Mrs. Francis Campos, 45 years of age. Mrs. Vargas had not seen her youngest sister for 33 years. A few hours after receiving a letter from her 20 year old son, Cpl. Primo Campos, in Korea that he wouldn't be able to come home as anticipated she collapsed and died. He received a head injury from a hand grenade while at the front and thought he might be home on furlough around June 25, but was being sent back to the front line again instead. Worry induced by shock and heart ailment was attributed as the cause of her death. Surviving are the husband and 13 children, the youngest a two year old daughter. She had been a resident of Des Moines for 26 years but was born in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Vargas' sister and other relatives from San Springs, Okla. attended the funeral but her mother, who recently left here for St. Paul, Minn., was unable to attend the services.
