Belding Banner, 12 Jul 1900

Mrs. Christiana E. Canfield died at her home in this city Saturday, July 7th at
the age of 72 years, 3 months and 15 days.  Deceased was the widow of Molton H.
Canfield and she was born in Ticonderogo, Essex Co., N.Y., March 22, 1828. 
Shortly after her marriage, Nov. 15, 1854, they came to Grattan and resided
there about 35 years, afterward removing to Belding.  Both she and her husband
who has preceded her to rest were honored and respected citizens of this city
for many years.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. E. A. Coles, of Montana, Mrs. A. H. Caldwell
and Mrs. Ed. Orser, of this city.  Services were held Monday Rev. O.A. Carman,
her pastor, officiating, and the interment took place in the Ashley cemetery.
