Belding Banner-News, 19 Oct 1967

Sylvester N. Canfield, 65, of 7986 Canfield Road died Thursday at Belding
Community Hospital.  A lifetime resident of the Orleans area, Mr. Canfield was
born October 28, 1901, the son of Edward and Sylvia Canfield.  He married Pearl
Dorm December 19, 1921, in Belding.  He was employed by Metal Glass as a machinist.

Surviving besides his wife are one son, Kenneth, at home; two stepsons, Robert
Stanton of Ionia and Roy Stanton of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mrs.
Rush (Mildred) Clark of Lansing; one brother, Ronald Canfield of Battle Creek;
and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Huffman Funeral Home.  Pastor
Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiated.  Interment was in Orleans
cemetery, Ionia county.  Pallbearers were Sylvester Wells, Bob Treynor, Clyde
Verick, Virgil Jones, Sherman Jackson, and Ted Whitford.
