Ionia County News, 16 Nov 1939

Samuel Cannavan, 55, died suddenly Saturday night following a heart attack.  He
was a world war veteran.  He was born at Newburg, Mich., March 24, 1884, and
came to Ionia from Kent county two years ago.

Surviving him are his widow, an adopted son and daughter; a brother, Emory
Cannavan of Williamston and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Irish of Mason.

Funeral services were held from the Mennonite church at two o’clock Tuesday
afternoon following a prayer service at the home.
