Funeral services for Fred D. Card, 38, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Saranac
Community church.  Interment will be at Saranac cemetery.  Body is at
Morris-Roetman funeral home at Saranac.  A former resident of Saranac, Mr. Card
died suddenly Tuesday at Ft. Smith, Ark.

Born June 22, 1934, in Flint, he was the son of Phil Card and Esther Champion
Card.  He graduated from Saranac high school in 1953 and served with the army
from 1954 to 1957.

He was married to Anne Hollenbeck in Belding, June 5, 1954.  For the past 4 ½
years he had been employed by Cheston, Baldin, Lima and Hamilton at Ft. Smith.

A past president of Saranac Jaycees he was also past vice president of the state
Jaycees.  He was a member of the Saranac Community church and its Fisherman’s club.

Surviving besides the wife, Anne, are two sons, Stephen and Michael at home,
mother, Mrs. Esther Card of Saranac and sister, Mrs. Joyce Lester of Grand Rapids.

A memorial has been established for the Saranac Community church.
