Ionia Standard, 26 Feb 1915

Rev. Edwin A. Carey, who studied law in Ionia, and entered the ministry from
this city, died at Toulon, Stark county, Illinois, on the eighth inst.  He made
almost yearly visits to the old home town since leaving it, and was here on his
last visit in the early fall of 1914.  Edwin A. Carey was born April 19, 1852,
in Ionia, Mich., and departed this life February 8, 1915, at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Frank C. McClenahan in Toulon, Ill.  He was the eldest of four
children born to the union of Seth Carey and Marcia De Uell, all of whom long
since preceded him into the Great Beyond.  In the year 1872 he was united in
marriage with Camilla Roberts at Orleans, Michigan, and to this union was born
one child, Lucille Blanche.
