SON-IN-LAW OF ED VANDECAR --------- The body of Leonard Cary, a former resident of Lake Odessa, was buried at Lakeside cemetery Wednesday afternoon, Rev. O. F. Bulman officiated at the burial. The funeral was held in Jackson under the auspices of the policemen of that city, at 10 a.m. and the body accompanied by the same policemen in uniform bearing their flag and the United States flag was escorted to its last resting place, by his loyal companions in the service of protection. A male quartette of policeman sang beautiful songs at the cemetery service. It is reported that Mr. Cary was called to arrest a drunken man in Jackson and that this disorderly man shot him, from which wound he quickly died. He leaves his wife, and a son 15 years old and another about 9 years of age. He was a resident of this place about ten years ago His wife is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vandecar, living on the Haddix farm east of town.
