Carigon, 84, of Ionia passed away December 24, 2014 at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 5, 1930 in Ionia, Michigan the daughter of Charles and Clarice (Goodemoot) Andrews. She married Glen Carigon September 30, 1949. She graduated from Saranac High School as valedictorian of the class of 1948. She went on to become very active in 4-H, Brownies, Girl Scouts and the PTA at Saranac Schools. Phyllis was a lifelong member of the Easton United Methodist Church being very active with the Women’s groups. Her beautiful singing voice was always welcome in the choir and various cantatas throughout the years. She is survived by her husband Glen of Ionia and her children Kevin (Paula) Carigon of Atlanta, MI, Pat (Grant) Blood of Ionia, Pam (Gary) Erridge of Ionia. Five grandchildren – Paul (Tracy) and Mark (Cora) Carigon, Amanda (Mike) (Blood), Bitson, Chad (Trisha) Erridge, and Jennifer (Aaron) (Erridge) Little. Phyllis was preceded in death by her son Michael, and sisters, Margaret, Edna and Doris. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Easton United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service. In Lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Easton United Methodist Church or the Ionia Area Hospice.
