Carigon, 71, of Saranac, passed away February 3, 2014. He was born March 8, 1942 in Ionia the son of Neil and Hazel (Tyler) Carigon. Raymond married Patricia Scott on May 29, 1971 in Saranac. He retired from Michigan Department of Corrections in 1997. Raymond served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 7/14/60 to 6/25/63. He enjoyed casino bus trips to the U.P. and was a member of the Saranac American Legion and Moose Lodge of Ionia. Raymond is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Carigon of Saranac; sons, Tim (Carrie) Scott of Cedar Springs and Mike Carigon of Saranac; daughters, Brenda Leffler of Texas, Cindy (Dale) Hawkins of Saranac, and Christina (Tom) Rankey of Grand Rapids; brother, Steven Carigon (Larry Hunt) of Saranac; sisters, Helen (Herb) Peltier of Ionia, Vicki (Jim) Becker of St. Johns, Christine (Andrew) Walker of Fenwick, and Jo Ellen (Tim) Carigon of Saranac; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a special little dog, Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; Bert & Lillian Carigon and Walter & Marian Tyler. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, February 6th, 11 a.m. at Easton United Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5th, 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond’s name to the Saranac Fire Department.
