BELDING- Helen (Ladegast) Carlson, 99, of Belding, was called home to be with 
her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Spectrum United Hospital 
Rehabilitation and Nursing in Greenville.

She was born May 1, 1913, in Oceana County, Michigan.

She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she devoted many hours 
to the work of the church throughout her years in Belding. She was a loving 
wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. She will be missed by 
all of those whose lives she unselfishly touched.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Dorothy (Tom) Arnold, and two sons, Bob 
(Joyce) Carlson and Jim (Judy) Carlson. Also treasuring her legacy are her many 
grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Helen also is survived by a brother, 
Lawrence (Dorothy) Ladegast of Louisville, Ky., and a sister, Milly Lake of 
Fort Myers, Fla. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and her son, Charles, both of 
Belding, as well as one granddaughter, one sister and two brothers.

Funeral and committal services are 2 p.m. today at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 
Belding, with Pastor Robert Wagner officiating. Interment will be in River 
Ridge Cemetery, Belding.

Memorial contributions may be to Spectrum United Rehabilitation and Nursing in 
Greenville or to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Belding. Envelopes will be 
available at church or at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, where 
funeral care has been entrusted.
