Carlson, 73, of rural Belding, passed away Friday February 3, 2006 from an automobile accident in Orleans Township. Chuck was born on January 8, 1933 in Muskegon the son of Fred and Helen Ladegast Carlson. He had served in the Unites States Coast Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 203 in Belding. Chuck was truly a jack of all trades and a master of none. He enjoyed helping and fixing things for his many friends and neighbors. There was hardly anything that Chuck could not fix. He loved to travel, dance and enjoyed panning for gold. He had worked in the tool and die industry for many years as well as owning his own saw mill, west of Smyrna. Chuck was also a donor in the Gift of Life Program. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother; Helen Carlson of Belding, his wife of 40 years, Dee Carlson of Belding, their children; Grant Carlson and special friend Cindy Treynor, Bert Carlson and special friend Sue Mason, Tracy and Stewart Pepper and Kelly and Ernie Cox all of Belding. uck is also survived by 9 grandchildren, his sister and brothers and their spouses; Dorothy and Tom Arnold of Greenville, Bob and Joyce Carlson of Belding and Jim and Judy Carlson of Greenville. He was preceded by his father and granddaughter, Brandi. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Joseph Fermer of Holy Cross Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
