Ionia Sentinel Standard, 10 May 1943

Mrs. Charlotte A. Carlson, 69, widow of Carl Carlson, died Sunday afternoon at
her home in Ionia township following nearly a year’s illness.  Funeral services
are to be held at the Stone funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock,
conducted by Rev. George Woolcock, pastor of the Baptist church.  Burial will be
in Highland Park cemetery, beside her husband, who died January 12.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Mier, with whom she resided; a son,
Berger, in the U.S. navy; two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Hedlund?, of Sweden, and
Mrs. Fredericks Nelson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Adlop Olson, of Lansing, as
well as six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Sweden, Mrs. Carlson had been a resident of this community for more than
30 years, coming here after her marriage in 1901 to Mr. Carlson at Grand Rapids.
 For many years her husband was an employe of the Stafford Manufacturing
company, the family moving to Ionia township in 1927.
