Lakewood News, 11 Aug 2007

Leslie “Les” P. Carlson, age 42, of Lake Odessa, passed away unexpectedly on
Sunday, August 5, 2007.  

Les owned and operated Lakewood Irrigation Services.  He was a sports fanatic
and was a Detroit Tiger fan.  He loved to do woodworking and spending time with
his family and friends.  Les loved spending time and playing with his kids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Carlson in 2005.  He is survived
by his wife, Melinda; children, Julia and Kevin; mother, Emily and Tom Schmid;
stepmother, Patricia Carlson; sister, Jeanine and Gilbert Frye; grandmother, Ida
Carlson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Hessel-Cheslek
Funeral Home in Sparta with Rev. Robert Snyder officiating.  Interment in
Greenwood Cemetery, Sparta.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to
his children’s educational fund.
