Carney, 65, died at her home, 147 E. Main street early Sunday morning, of cerebral hemorrhage. Her death came as a great shock to her hosts of Ionia friends as she had attended a Mission Society meeting on Friday and gone about her work as usual Saturday. The attack which caused her death came about midnight and she died around six o’clock. Dorabelle Flanagan was born in Urbana, Indiana, and was united in marriage with Wm. J. Carney, at Wabash, Ind. They later moved to Muskegon and from there to Ionia where Mr. Carney died in 1904. For a time Mrs. Carney lived in Springfield, Ill., but returned to Michigan and Ionia several years ago. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Florence Peterson, Ionia, and a brother, Edward Flanagan of Wabash, Ind. Funeral services were held at 10:30 Wednesday morning from the home, Rev. J.J. Fitch of the Baptist church officiated and burial was in Muskegon.
