Ionia Sentinel Standard, 3 Jan 1944

Miss Oma E. Carothers, 53, of South Ionia, died Sunday in the Ionia County
Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for four days.  For the past six
months she had made her home with her sister and brother, Miss Alma Carothers
and Carl Carothers, of South Ionia.

Miss Carothers was born September [missing words] Alivia, Ind. and she [missing
words] Indiana to Saranac at [missing words] she lived in Saranac most of her
life until fifteen years ago when she worked in Fenwick.

Her only survivors are the brother and sister with whom she had made her home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers
funeral home.  Rev. F.G. Dunbar will officiate and burial will be in Saranac
cemetery.
