Carothers died Monday of a heart attack suffered while watching the free fair parade. The Rev. Howard Smith officiated at the services. Interment was in Saranac Cemetery. Bearers were Leon McQuillan, Ted Bloomer, Robert White, George Dean, Harry Morgan and Otto Northrup. Brother Dow of Ada was in charge of I.O.O.F. services at the graveside. I.O.O.F. members from Ionia and Saranac attended in a body. Rebekah from Ionia attended in a body as did employees of the Ionia Pottery Co. Persons attending from out of town were Ed Horrocks, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Masters and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schrock, all of Wolcottville, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hayden, Thomas Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Benjamin, and Norman Childs all of Saranac.
