Robert J. Carpenter, 67, of 10025 S. Staines Road, Fenwick, died Wednesday, 
October 7, 1992 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

A longtime resident of the Fenwick area, he worked as a tooling engineer at 
General Tire and then as a sewing machine mechanic at Chrysler, retiring in 
1979.

He was born July 17, 1925 in Bronson, the son of George and Myrtle Raymond 
Carpenter.

On Sept. 5,  1944, he married the former Irene P. Trumble at Sheridan.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and their husbands; a son and his 
wife; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents , three brothers and a sister.

Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan.  Interment in Woodard Lake 
Cemetery.
