Edward Jowel Carpenter, 45, of Lake Odessa, passed away at his residence March
24, 2000.  He was born in Wayne on Oct. 4, 1954, to George Carpenter and
Kathleen Ford.

He was a life member of the Rabbit Breeders Association, Michigan State Rabbit
Breeder Association, Central Michigan Rabbit Breeders Association, Mid-Michigan
Rabbit Breeders, American Federation of New Zeeland Rabbit Breeders, Havana
Rabbit Breeders Association, Florida White Rabbit Breeders Association, Sliver
Marlin Rabbit Club, 4H judge and was active on a state and local, Michigan
Florida White, R.B.A., Upper Mid-West Havana R.B.A. and Ohio New Zeeland R.B.A.

He married Juanita Croff on Oct. 13, 1974, in Romulus.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Carpenter
of Lake Odessa; four children, Katie (Dean Brandt) Carpenter of Lake Odessa,
Edward Carpenter of Lake Odessa, Rachel Carpenter of Lake Odessa, Sarah (Justin
Weeks) Carpenter of Lake Odessa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Joyce
Croff; two brothers, Henry Carpenter of Grand Ledge and Ronald (Candy) Carpenter
of Belleville; three sisters, Mary (Ken) Aho of Howard City, Marlene Inglis of
Lake Odessa and Linda Rogers of Florida; three grandchildren, Katreena, Jamie
and Jonnie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at the Lake
Funeral Home in Ionia.  Visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday from 2
until 4 p.m. and 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make
contributions to the historical fund for the rabbit association.
