The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 23, 1987
Betty E. Carpenter, 60, of 7975 Goodwin Road, Lyons, died March 21 in Ionia.  
She was born May 27, 1926 in Ionia, the daughter of Hattie Font.  She was 
employed in the transportation department of Portland Public Schools for 
twenty years.  

Surviving are her husband, Lewis; three sons, John Jorgensen of Palo, Kevin 
Ingram and Timothy Ingraham, both of Portland; a stepson, Bradley Carpenter of 
St. Petersburg, Florida; two daughters, Twana Dies and Jeanette Minnis, both 
of Lyons; two stepdaughters, Melissa Davis and Debra Hayes, both of St. 
Petersburg, Florida.  

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Chapel, 
with the Rev. Donald Chapel officiating.  Burial will be in Portland 
Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Weston Townsend, Donald Rogers, John Beckett, 
Carl Schneider, William Clark and Max Minnis.
